The INTERNATIONAL STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (ISMA) was founded in 1993 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It is an international scientific body, with membership open to all persons involved or interested in business and economics. Individual membership of the ISMA includes a subscription to the European Research Studies Journal (ERSJ). Members can submit papers to the ERSJ at a reduced submission fee and have the right to attend the annual conference at a reduced registration fee.

The ERSJ is published two to four times a year and carries only articles of the highest scientific quality. It is an outlet for theoretical and empirical work with global relevance.

The aims of the INTERNATIONAL STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION are:

• to contribute to the development and application of strategic business and economics as a science as well as practice in Europe;
• to improve communication and exchange ideas between professors, practitioners, researchers and students in business and economics in different European countries;
• to develop and sponsor co-operation between teaching institutions and research institutions all over Europe.

In pursuing these aims, the ISMA is particularly eager to foster closer links between theory-oriented and policy-oriented scientists, as well as between students from all over Europe. The ISMA co-operates, on a complementary and non-competing basis, with the existing national and international business and economic associations.
